“A beautiful bright morning. — Heard that dear Sophie’s wedding yesterday had gone of admirably. — Out with Beatrice. I walk a little better, which is a great thing. — Drove in the Balloch Buidh, in the afternoon with Beatrice & Ina Mc Neill. At 7 the procession started for the bonfire, in honour of Sophie’s marriage. The pipes played & torches were carried. We watched the procession reaching the top of Craig Gowan, & the bonfire being lit, & one could hear the pipes quite well. Afterwards they all came stopping in front of the Castle & dancing some reels. Liko then proposed the healths of Sophie & Tino.”
