Saturday 5th January 1901 -

'Had a bad & much disturbed night. Felt very exhausted. — Beatrice went out with me for a short while late in the morning & in the afternoon I drove with Lenchen & Ismay S. to Newport & back. It was very fine, but cold. — I was very drowsy, when I came home. — Harriet P. read to me. —'
